<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI€I <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />January 20, 2006 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of <br />HILUHILU DEVELOPMENT LLC <br />was called to order at 5:10 p.m. at the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort, 78-6740 <br />(REZ 05-010) <br />Alii Drive, Keauhou, Hawaii with Chairman C. Kimo Alameda presiding. <br />PRESENT:C. Kimo AlamedaABSENT & EXCUSED: Allen Salavea <br />Jeffrey McCall <br />Rene Siracusa <br />Hannah Springer <br />Fred Galdones <br />Chris Yuen, DeputyPlanning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />And approximately 10 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: HILUHILU DEVELOPMENT LLC (REZ 05-010) <br />Change of Zone from Open (O) and Agricultural 3-acre (A-3a) to a Project District for 725.2 <br />acres of land. The project, referred to as ‚Palamanuiƒ will be a master planned community with a <br />mix of single-family and multiple-family residential units, commercial spaces, a village inn, 18- <br />holegolfcourse,andrelatedimprovementsandinfrastructure.Thepropertyislocatednortheast <br />of the Kona International Airport at Keahole, between Queen Kaahumanu Highway and Makalei <br />Estates Subdivision, Kau, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-2-5:1. <br />ALAMEDA:Will the County Planning Commission now come back in order? Before <br />we start I do want to have a little conversation with fellow commissioners. This is our second to <br />the last agenda item. Actually the last agenda item kind of ties into this one. Its about a little <br />after 5 oclock right now and I am concerned about the potential brain freeze and the inability to <br />really focus so I want to propose a time of 7 oclock p.m. tonight as a time to shoot for to <br />complete these 2 agenda items. And at that time, if we still have not completed it I would like to <br />kind of bring the discussion back to see how, how you guys are doing in terms of your own <br />capacity to continue. And if at that point you feel you just physically drained and cant continue <br />then Id like to propose we end. How does that sound to you?
