<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />February 15, 2007 <br />WAIKOLOA DEVELOPMENT <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of <br />COMPANY (SMA USE PERMIT NO. 25) <br />was called to order at 11:00 a.m. at the King <br />Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, 75-5660 Palani Road, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, with Chairman <br />William Graham presiding. <br />PRESENT: C. Kimo Alameda ABSENT & EXCUSED: Jeffrey McCall <br /> Fred Galdones Rene’ Siracusa <br /> William Graham <br /> Andrew Iwashita <br />Alvin Rho <br /> Rodney Watanabe <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />OgxkkhrEtihlnsn+Rs`eeOk`mmdq <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />And approximately 11 people from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: WAIKOLOA DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (SMA USE PERMIT NO. 25) <br />Request for amendment to Condition No. 12 (completion of the Waikoloa Homesites Venture <br />Golf Course) of Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit No. 25, which allowed the overall <br />development of the Waikoloa Resort at Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-9-7:1-9, 11, <br />14, 17, 19-21, 26, 30-38; 6-9-8:1-31; 6-9-9:1-14; 6-9-10:1, 34; and 6-9-11:1-26. <br />GRAHAM: Will the Planning Commission come back to order, please? Our next item <br />on the agenda, Unfinished Business the Applicant is Waikoloa Development Company regarding <br />SMA Use Permit 25, and this is a request for an amendment to Condition No. 12, which relates <br />to the completion of the Waikoloa Homesites Venture Golf Course. This agenda item was heard <br />at our last Kona meeting, but the Commission requested some extra materials for evaluation <br />before taking action. So we have received extra materials in the mail, and we can go forward at <br />that point today. Mr. Darrow, would you give us a refresher, please? <br />DARROW: Sure. Just to begin with, this is a continued hearing from our last Kona <br />meeting. The Applicants were asked by the Planning Commission to provide certain information <br />regarding water quality monitoring reports. The Applicants have submitted the requested <br />th <br />information in a letter dated February 5, included along with Exhibits. We have also received <br />thth <br />several letters from Waikoloa Development Company, dated February 12 and February 14, <br />which have been passed out to the Commission this morning. Additionally we have received a <br />th <br />letter dated February 14, from attorney, William Yuen, and again that has been distributed this <br />morning to the Commission.
