<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI€I <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />MARCH 9, 2006 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the amendments to Chapter 23 (Subdivision Code) was called <br />to order at 10:20 a.m. in the County Building, Councilroom - Room 201, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, <br />Hawai€i, with Chairman C. Kimo Alameda presiding. <br />PRESENT:C. Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager (left at 3:00 p.m.) <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />And approximately 2 people from the public in attendance. <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />Continuation of a hearing on amendments to certain sections of Chapter 23 (Subdivision Code), <br />Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 edition) regarding the subdivision review and approval process, <br />including but not limited to information required for the submittal of an initial subdivision <br />application, revision to certain time requirements, grades and curves of streets, and <br />‚housekeepingƒ changes to the languages within various sections of the code. <br />ALAMEDA:All right, next on the agenda is the Planning Director, whos the initiator <br />who will be seating up front. After the Planning Director shares a little about the agenda item, I <br />believe we do have testimony for this particular agenda item. Sharon, we do? <br />NOMURA:Yes. <br />ALAMEDA:Okay, Mr. Frankel. So well be proceeding as such. <br />YUEN:This is a set of recommended changes to the Subdivision Code, mostly <br />technical in nature. We had a hearing on this on the Kona side where I went through them one <br />by one. I think the best thing to do would be to -. That it was late in the day and I know that the <br />Commissioners were tired, I think the best thing for us to do would, I dont want to go through <br />the changes one by one again.
