<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />APRIL 7, 2006 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application filed by <br />AINALOA DEVELOPMENT <br /> was called to order at 2:38 p.m. in the County Building, <br />CORPORATION (USE 106) <br />Councilroom - Room 201, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii with Chairman C. Kimo <br />Alameda presiding. <br />PRESENT:C. Kimo AlamedaABSENT & EXCUSED: Allen Salavea <br />Fred Galdones <br />Bill Graham <br />AndrewIwashita <br />Jeffrey McCall <br />Rene Siracusa <br />Rodney Watanabe <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher J. Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />And approximately 28 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />APPLICANT: AINALOA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (USE 106) <br />Further proceedings on remand from appeal to the Third Circuit Court from Planning <br />Commissions decision dated November 15, 2004, for consideration and possible <br />approval of proposed settlement of the appeal, including amendment of condition nos. 7 <br />(improvements to Ainaloa Boulevard) and 9 (community benefit assessments) of Use <br />Permit No. 106 (development of an 18-hole golf course and related improvements), with <br />executive session, as needed. <br />ALAMEDA:Lets take up Agenda Item No. 5, Unfinished Business. <br />Application Ainaloa Development Corporation. Ill let the staff give us an intro on this <br />particular agenda item. So, Norman, whenever youre ready. Staff? <br />HAYASHI:Thank you, Mr. Chair, Members of the Commission. Back in the <br />early 1990s, the Applicant, Ainaloa Development Corporation, requested a Special <br />Permit to allow the establishment of a golf clubhouse on the property, the subject <br />property, which is indicated by this red dot, as well as some related recreational activities. <br />At the same time, the Applicant submitted a request for a Use Permit to allow an 18-hole <br />golf course on 200 acres of land. <br />EXHIBIT D <br /> <br />
