<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS <br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Leeward <br />Planning Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 <br />and 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and the <br />Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. <br />DATE: <br /> Friday, June 18, 2010 <br /> TIME: <br />9:30 a.m. <br /> PLACE: <br />King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel <br />75-5660 Palani Road, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />NEW BUSINESS – 9:30 a.m. <br />APPLICANT: NEX GEN ENERGY PARTNERS, LLC (USE 10-21) <br />1. <br />Use Permit to allow the construction of a 155-foot high wind energy tower within the <br />Open (O) zoned district that would provide electrical power to operate the existing <br />Waikoloa Village sewage treatment plant. The area involved is located approximately ¾ <br />mile north of Waikoloa Road in the vicinity of the existing sewage treatment plant, <br />Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-8-2: portion of 19. <br />APPLICANT: EWM INVESTMENTS, LLC (REZ 10-123) <br />2. <br />Change of Zone from an Agricultural 20-acre (A-20a) to a Family Agricultural 2-acre <br />(FA-2a) district for 24.1 acres of land. The property is located north of Akoni Pule <br />Highway (Highway 270) in the vicinity of Takata Store and abutting the Kynnersley <br />Road Tract Subdivision, Puehuehu and Kapua, North Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 5-4-8:1. <br />APPLICANT: HAWAII ISLAND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />3. <br />CORPORATION (SLU09-25/REZ 09-112) <br />a.State Land Use boundary amendment from the Agricultural to the Urban district <br />for 12.737 acres. <br />b. Change of Zone from Agricultural 20-acre (A-20a) and Single-Family Residential <br />7,500 square feet (RS-7.5) to Open (O), Single-Family Residential 15,000 square <br />feet (RS-15), Single-Family Residential 10,000 square feet (RS-10) and RS-7.5 <br />districts for 18.38 acres. <br />The area involved is located north (makai) of Akoni Pule Highway (Highway 270) and <br />adjacent to the Kumakua Phase I Subdivision, Pahoa, North Kohala, Hawaii, <br />TMK: 5-5-19:25 and 27. <br /> <br />
