Silber <br /> Special Permit Application No. PL-SPP-2o22-0000i6; <br /> Request to rescind deferral and request to hold a new hearing <br /> The above application was scheduled for the January 6th, 2023, hearing. <br /> On January 4th, the applicant requested a deferral, which was approved. <br /> Two reasons were submitted to justify the request for deferral: <br /> 1. "We need additional time to review and respond to the numerous items of public testimony <br /> that have been submitted recently." [Pipan, email to Darrow, January 4th, 2023] <br /> 2. "We would like...additional time to work with neighbors of the subject property on concerns <br /> that have recently been brought up about the proposed use." [Pipan, letter to Darrow, January <br /> 4th, 2023] <br /> Regarding the first reason: the applicant has had ample additional time (four months) to review <br /> and respond to testimony that was submitted for the January 6th hearing date. <br /> Regarding the second reason: the applicant reached out to the core group of neighbors who <br /> opposed his application in order to address their concerns; however, the ensuing discussion, dialogue <br /> and attempted negotiation did not succeed in resolving the neighbors' major concerns [see Footnote <br /> below]. <br /> Each of the eight core neighbors involved in dialogue with the applicant remains convinced that the <br /> applicant's project is not and cannot be in the best interests of the neighborhood.
