While I understand the intention behind the bill to address <br /> issues related to affordable housing and neighborhood tranquility, I <br /> believe there are several areas where the bill may not align with the best <br /> interests of our community. <br /> Firstly, the bill's approach to managing short-term rentals could <br /> inadvertently harm our local economy, which benefits significantly <br /> from tourism. Many families rely on the income generated from hosting <br /> visitors to support their livelihoods. I myself am using a STVR to help <br /> partially support me in my retirement. But my one STVR also supports <br /> the income of a housekeeper and handyman while generating tax dollars <br /> for the county and state. Therefore, I urge the commission to conduct <br /> an economic impact study to fully understand the potential <br /> repercussions of Bill 121 on our community's economic well-being. <br /> Secondly, the bill's requirements, such as the affidavit requirement and <br /> invasive registration processes, could place undue burdens on <br />
