We keep our property in <br /> great condition and have a good relationship with all of our neighbors. When we are not in <br /> Hawaii, we rent it as a licensed vacation rental. We follow all the rules and regulations and <br /> pay nearly 20% in combined taxes on any rent we collect, plus property taxes. There are other <br /> hosted rentals in our area that do not require any license and do not pay taxes. They rented <br /> during Covid,when we were unable to host any guests. I know there is a shortage of long term <br /> rental properties on the big island. We would like to see all rentals treated and enforced with <br /> equity and the tax funds collected be used to build more long term rental properties. <br /> David and Christy Hinkson <br />
