The new ordinance put forward by the <br />Director favors the telecommunications industry too heavily and lacks sufficient safeguards <br />for our community. <br />Under the proposed ordinance, towers and antennas could be installed in every zoning district <br />without any permitting process or adequate regulations. It centralizes decision-making power <br />solely within the Planning Department, excluding other relevant agencies. <br />I urge you to consider Council Member Evans' ordinance, which provides clear and practical <br />permit requirements.
