From:ruby2sd
To:LPCtestimony
Subject:NO TO # 4. 5G issue
Date:Thursday, September 12, 2024 1:54:48 AM
Greetings:
I oppose Item #4 because it gives almost total power to the Planning Commission with no other agencies
or experts involved. It has no provisions to protect us against 5G small cells! It allows towers at schools
and day care centers! It rushes the approval process to only 30 days!
I support Council Member Evans proposed ordinance instead, which has clear, attainable requirements. It
is the perfect balance between the health, safety and welfare needs of the people and the needs of the
tech industry.
Council Member Cindy Evans' proposed telecommunications ordinance, Bill 194, has already been
forwarded to you. The new ordinance #4 proposed by the Director is too sympathetic to the
telecommunications industry with not enough protections for our community.
Please OPPOSE #4 !!
Kathleen Cardella
1051 Haiku Rd
Haiku, Maui
Mahalo,
Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
