As one of the longest active public
members of the Kona Community Development Plan process as well as past steering committee and
action committee member, I have strong feelings about projects that will usurp our county's legal and
moral obligation to better, smarter land use planning and growth.
At this time and for the foreseeable future, there's not a single development project that fits within the
legal boundaries of the KCDP ordinance's infrastructure concurrency requirements. That's because the
county has no detailed plans to upgrade roadways, water and wastewater treatment as well as other
infrastructure necessary for creating a decent quality of life for residents.
If for no other reason, you must keep this fact in mind when this and any other projects come before you
for your blessing.
Mahalo for hearing the voices of many thousands of regional stakeholders who put thousands of hours
and over 15 years into creating a better island future through smarter land use planning through the CDP
process.
Sincerely,
anice.ama-(Je.nnie.

1
