Hoffee. Applicant: Armando Altamirano. TMK: 7-5-009: 034. Located at 75-5864 <br />Walua Road, Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i at the intersection of Walua Road and Ali‘i Drive <br />(former Tom Bombadil’s restaurant location). <br /> <br />Mr. Childs oriented the Commissioners regarding the subject and surrounding properties <br />on the location map, and described the proposed project. He noted that he had advised <br />the applicant that the proposed low enclosing walls, in lieu of existing railings, on the <br />second floor were not allowable projections within the building setbacks, and that the <br />applicant said he would prepare and submit a revised plan replacing them with open <br />railings. He discussed the areas of entitlement, history, parking, landscaping and building <br />appearance, and concluded that with the modification of the railings, the project met the <br />requirements of the Zoning Code and appeared to meet the guidelines set forth in the <br />Master Plan for Kailua-Kona. <br /> <br />The applicant, Armando Altamirano, and his representatives were present. They brought <br />in a sample piece of the proposed roof and a paint chip for the exterior wall to show the <br />1 <br /> <br />
