<br />North Kohala Access Group Minutes <br />Meeting Notes <br />August 1, 2012 (Old Courthouse 4:30pm) <br />Participants: Jack Hoyt, Joe Carvalho, Keith Wallis, Toni Withington, Ralph Galan, Gail Byre, Ted <br />Matsuda. <br />Hapu'u - Kapanaia <br />Pacific Plains <br />o <br />Report from Larry Brown of the Planning Department <br />Planning did not receive a grant of easement document for Pacific Plains. <br />· <br />We did receive an Amended Shoreline Public Access Plan dated May 22, <br />2012, which we responded to on June 8, 2012 stating that the signage at the <br />public parking easement should include a map showing the vehicular and <br />pedestrian access alignments. We further commented that the Revised Final <br />Plat Map submitted needed to be amended to indicate that the lateral <br />pedestrian trail was also a 10-wide public pedestrian access easement in <br />favor of the County. <br />We want the county planning department to send us a copy of the access plan. <br />Hapu'u. <br />o <br />After consulting with kahu, the landowners are installing a protective fence around <br />the Hale O Kaili Heiau. <br />Kauhola Lighthouse <br />Nothing new to report. <br />o <br />Ainakea <br />Report from Larry Brown of the Planning Department. <br />o <br />Grant of Easement for Ainakea has been signed by the Mayor and the Resolution to <br />accept the easement by the County Council passed out of the Parks & Recreation <br />Committee with a favorable recommendation on July 18. I expect approval by the <br />full Council at their next meeting on August 1. <br />Pahoa (Honomakau) <br />Nothing new to report. <br />o <br />Upolu Airport - East end of the runway <br />Report from Larry Brown of the Planning Department. <br />o <br />No GOE submitted to Planning since 12/19/11. Planning letter dated 2/22/12 <br />(attached) itemized necessary corrections to GOE for this site as well as for SKC <br />(5-3-07:0040, New Moon (5-3-06:023), Vipassana Hawaii (5-3-07:010), Davis <br />Trust (5-3-07:048, and Anderson Trust (5-3-06:027) <br />We would like the easement document from the planning department regarding Surety <br />o <br />Kohala Corporation. <br />The previous owner that had easement agreement with the county. <br />Upolu Airport Area Restoration <br />The 90 or so Naupaka plants have been delivered to Upolu airport maintenance area. <br />o <br />We will need about 1,000 Naupaka plants <br />o <br />Report from Aric Arakaki of Ala Kaha Kai NPS <br />o <br />Cooperative Agreement is at DLNR for approval <br />Trail survey will occur in the coming months, as other projects are completed, <br /> <br />
