RE: Letter of support for Scenic Byway Designation; Highway 137 — The Red Road It is with great excitement that Puna Community Development Plan (PCDP) Action Committee expresses its supports for the efforts of Kalani (Sponsor) and KAPONO as they submit Highway 137 — "The Red Road" for consideration of Scenic Byways Nomination to your organization. For more than five -three years the PCDP Action Committee has been working with government, community leaders and organizations in suppeftin . t efforts in ffilfillingaimed at implementing the action items of the PCDP. Kalani and KAPONO are both organizations and leaders in their community and have specifically taken on the task of PCDP (sec. 4.5.3.f "Designate and improve Highway 137 (Red Road) as a Scenic Byway' . KAPONO having member representation all along Highway 137, conducted a extensive survey where they gaine strong local support for the Scenic Byways designation.
