Notes from Growth Management Subcommittee Meeting March 4, 2013

Attendees:
Jim Pedersen, Jessie Wells, Dixie Adams, Jon Adams, John Winter,
and Hermann Fernandez

We reviewed the latest draft of Growth Management Subcommittee Procedures
. Hermann will update the next draft to reflect the new procedure
where the Planning Director will inform the NKCDP AC Chair on any land use
applications effecting North Kohala, and the draft will list the land use
applications to be reviewed by the subcommittee.

Jon Adams reported on the last Action Committee meeting (2/11/13). There is
an issue on whether the AC can directly correspond with third parties, or must
send all correspondence to the Planning Director, and then the Planning Director
will forward the correspondence to the intended recipient. Stay tuned.

The group then had a free ranging discussion on affordable rental housing,
section 8 housing, government roads, and why the Planning Dept. will allow
subdivided lots that are smaller than the underlying zoning (e.g. 10 acre lot
zoned Ag-20).

7:00 pm.
