Mike Fischer motioned to approve and <br />21 <br /> <br />Roger Harris seconded. Unanimous approval given. <br />22 <br />BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE <br />23 <br /> Presentation by Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc. (HELCO): <br />1. <br />24 <br />HELCO provided the Action Committee with an Energy Overview and status of projects to support <br />25 <br />the grid system in North and South Kohala. <br />26 <br />Discussion Points/Issues/questions <br />27 <br /> <br /> <br />Providing reliable power for the residents of North Kohala is one of the main project goals. <br />28 <br />Because right now a problem along the single line affects the entire North Kohala District <br />29 <br />(24 miles) originally built in 1953. <br />30 <br /> <br /> <br />Planned outages will usually take 4-10 hours for maintenance and repair work <br />31 <br /> <br /> <br />Will be planning 2-3 outages in the near future to do some needed maintenance. <br />32 <br /> <br /> <br />For the proposed projects need to go through the Environmental Assessments, getting <br />33 <br />easements, going through and gaining public input at various stages of the development of <br />34 <br />the projects. <br />35 <br /> <br /> <br />HELCO was advised that the Department of Hawaiian Homestead Lands input should also <br />36 <br />include reaching out to the Homestead Associations (the beneficiaries) as well as the <br />37 <br />administration. <br />38 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br />
