<br />North Kohala Community Access Group <br />Meeting Notes <br />June 5, 2013 (Old Bank of Hawaii 4:30pm) <br />: Joe Carvalho, Aric Arakaki, Jack Hoyt, Beth Robinson, Ralph Galan, Ted Matsuda. <br />Participants <br />Akoakoa Pint (Bird Cave) <br />NSTR (Nothing Significant to Report) <br />Hapu'u Kapanaia <br />Pacific Plains, LLC has done a preliminary archeological report. <br /> <br />Kauhola Lighthouse <br />We are waiting for a preliminary management plan report. <br />Halelua <br />The landowners are applying for an extension on the special permit for the retreat center. <br />Pahoa Beach <br />The legal easement is between lot 4 and lot 5. <br />The most convenient easement would be with the owners of lot 4. <br />Upolu Airport - East end of the runway <br />We need an update from the Planning Department (Larry Brown) <br />We should ask for controlled access thru the gate is ensured in writing. <br />· <br />Upolu Airport Area Restoration <br />st <br />We had about 20 people show up for on June 1 National Trails Day. <br />A portable irrigation system is set up on a trailer. <br />Coast Guard Road <br />NSTR <br /> <br />Puakea Bay Ranch <br />We should get the government agencies and the public to move the Makai lateral access.to make it safer <br />Ranch at Puakea <br />NSTR <br />Latitude 20 (Land south of Pao'o) <br />We should try to contact the owners and invite them one of our meetings. <br />Kaiholena <br />Ala Kaha Kai Trail Association is still seeking about $50,000 to purchase the Kaiholena South property. <br />The Land Legacy has donated $1.4 million, and the Dorrance foundation has donated $50,000. <br />. <br />Kohala Kai <br />We need an update from the Planning Department (Larry Brown), on the draft Shoreline Public Access Plan <br />and draft Grant of Public Access Easements document. <br />Grant of easement documents <br />NSTR <br />Old government roads and rail roads <br />We need and update on PONC and the process. <br />Well invite Gail Byrne to our next meeting to provide information to us. <br />New Items <br />NSTR <br /> <br />Next Meeting <br />Wednesday July 3, 2013, 4:30pm in the Old Bank of Hawaii Building. <br />
