Mountain View Village Center Planning Group <br /> Notes from first meeting <br /> August 30, 2012, 5:30 pm <br /> Fern Acres Community Association Meeting Room <br /> Our first job should be to hold an informational meeting for as many members of the <br /> larger Mountain View community as we can reach. Tentatively scheduled for <br /> Thursday, October 18th, 5:30, at the Mountain View School (if possible). <br /> A planning meeting for the event is tentatively scheduled for Thursday,September <br /> 13th, 5:30, at the Fern Acres Community Center. <br /> Discussed at last night's meeting: <br /> •The problems of creating a plan that could make it more difficult for small <br /> businesses to open, operate and/or expand in Mountain View. <br /> •Traffic hazards <br /> •Difficulty dealing with County/State/Fed regulations <br /> •Define what area we want to include in "Mountain View Village Center" <br /> •The possibility of creating an "Enterprise Zone" <br /> •Can we make Mountain View a model of what a Village Community can be? <br /> •How do we provide opportunities that will encourage our keiki to stay and work <br /> and live in Mountain View? <br /> Next: Distribute a contact list.
