Communication No. 2015-1
January 2, 2015
To Mayor Billy Kenoi, Greggor Ilagan, Danny Paleka,
Cc: Parks & Recreation, DPW
With the start of the New Year, the need for infrastructure,
planning and services in the Pahoa regional town center
continues to increase. Most glaringly, Historic Pahoa needs
lighted, adequate public parking with a permanent venue for
the farmer's market. As you are aware, Historic Pahoa is now
struggling to provide the services that were once shared with
the Malama Market, Ace Hardware and Long's Drugs.
The Action Committee of the PCDP urges the county to re -start
negotiations for the purchase of the TMK 1 -5- 002:024, 026,
027 & 1-5-114:027 that includes the Luquin's parking lot and
the farmer's market. The funding was approved and allocated
for this project and now it is needed more than ever.
Sincerely,
Patti Pinto, chair of the AC of the PCDP
