Communication No. 2015 -16 <br />PCDP Subcommittee on Connectivity and Emergency Response <br />Meeting —March 24, 2015 Keaau Community Center <br />5:00 p.m. <br />AGENDA <br />Call to Order: 5:00 p.m. <br />Present: Patti Pinto, June Conant, Jon Olson, Russel Jones, <br />February 24, 2015 Minutes unanimously approved as amended <br />Old Business: <br />Meeting with Daniel Paleka and Gregor Ilagan <br />3/12/15, 3:00 p.m. — Met with Daniel Paleka and Gregor Ilagan <br />Reviewed and gave copies of important documents: Large map of Puna <br />District, May 13, 2014 Connectivity Location Priority Report, Community <br />comments from PREP, letters, testimonies and emails; PCDP 2008, and <br />CERS minutes from November, 2014 and January and February, 2015. <br />Discussed Ad hoc Committee on Connectivity and Emergency Response <br />for Puna District, composition to be 4 -6 members with 2 -4 being Council <br />Members and the Chair of the PCDP Action Committee and Chair of the <br />PCDP Connectivity and Emergency Response Subcommittee; Ilagan will <br />chair committee and work on draft. <br />Discussion on the Ad -Hoc committee being formed as a subcommittee of <br />the Planning Committee of the County Council. Participation by a larger <br />group was discussed. Voting members will be as described in the <br />proposed text, community members working in the area of connectivity <br />can participate and have a voice. Further discussion on the importance of <br />involving both State and Federal Representatives and responsible agencies <br />in supporting the Connectivity work. Mandate of the Ad -Hoc committee <br />was discussed, working with appropriate departments and representatives <br />to establish viability and further to commence implementation of plan. <br />Need to schedule meetings with the following: <br />o Representative San Buenaventura <br />o Representative Onishi <br />o Senator Ruderman <br />o Representative Gabbard <br />o Senator Schatz <br />The need to involve Federal level support was discussed. <br />
