MINUTES OF PARKS,WATER & ROADS SUB -COMMITTEE MEETING 2/24/15 <br />ATTENDANCE: Toni Withington,John Winter,Faye Yates,Carter Collins, Andi <br />Longpre (minutes by andi) <br />PRATT ROAD: We reviewed the few responses we have received from landowners. <br />We agreed to send out a postcard mailing to all landowners to invite them to a <br />meeting re: the emergency use and public access of Pratt Rd. Andi will draft the <br />mailing. We project having that meeting at the end of May. <br />PARKS: Due to the major wind storms in January and early February there was <br />significant debris and damage at most of the Parks. (porta-potty on the rock area at <br />Mahukona(railroad track area),the roof blew off of the grandstand at Kamehameha <br />Park and significant ocean debris blew on the shore area at Keokea.) We are <br />contacting the various Friends of the Parks groups to get information from them <br />about the extent of the problem(s) and how to proceed to correct the problems. <br />BEERS RD. Toni reported that the water line on Beers Rd has broken for the 7th <br />time in 6 months. It is now fixed and Toni will contact DWS re:what they propose to <br />do to schedule replacement of the water line. We know it is already on the DWS <br />budget for capital improvements. <br />INTER -GENERATIONAL CENTER: Faye reported that the Center is now under the <br />jurisdiction of the County and the key is maintained by the County Elderly Services <br />office. She said that the Seniors want to have access to host events such as <br />luncheons for visiting senior softball teams. The Seniors want to redo the floors but <br />were told they could not because of concerns about asbestos. We will continue <br />exploring solutions on this issue. <br />NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, March 25,2015 5 p.m. at MAHUKONA PARK . We will <br />meet with the Friends of the Park to assess the extent of any damage due to the <br />windstorms. <br />
