<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS <br /> <br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Leeward Planning <br />Commission of the County of Hawai‘i in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, Hawai‘i <br />Revised Statutes, Section 6-7.5(a) of the Charter of the County of Hawai‘i, and the Commission’s Rules <br />of Practice and Procedure. <br /> <br />DATE: Thursday, July 16, 2015 <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br /> PLACE: West Hawai‘i Civic Center, Community Center, Building G, <br /> 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – Note that statements from the public regarding any <br />particular item on this agenda will be taken at the time the particular item is called to order. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS – 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br />1. APPLICANT: CLEMENS CLASSEN (SPP 15-180) <br />Application for a Special Permit to establish a 3-bedroom bed and breakfast operation within an <br />existing 5-bedroom dwelling on approximately 20.97 acres of land situated within the State Land Use <br />Agricultural District. The property is located east (mauka) of Hawai‘i Belt Road at the 100 mile <br />marker approximately 1.1 miles south of the intersection of Ho‘okena Beach Road and Hawai‘i Belt <br />Road in Waiea ahupua‘a, South Kona, Hawai‘i, TMK: 8-6-001:013. <br /> <br />2. INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR (SMA 10-039) <br />Revocation of Special Management Area Use (SMA) Permit No. 10-000039 originally issued to <br />Kawaihae Restaurant, LLC by the Planning Commission on May 3, 2010, to allow the establishment <br />of a restaurant and commercial/recreational uses, facilities and activities consistent with the <br />(Industrial- Commercial Mixed) MCX zoning on 1.32 acres in the Special Management Area. The <br />property is located along the ocean (makai) side of Akoni Pule Highway just north of Kawaihae <br />Harbor, South Kohala, Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-1-003:015. <br /> <br />3. APPLICANT: ALII BEACH ESTATES III CONDOMINIUM LOT OWNERS (SMA 314) <br />Amendment to Condition No. 3 (time to complete construction of three remaining dwellings) of <br />Special Management Area Use Permit No. 314, which allowed the construction of six single-family <br />residential units and related improvements within the Special Management Area (SMA). The <br />property is located approximately 450 feet southeast (Keauhou side) of Kahakai Elementary School, <br />stnd <br />Holualoa 1 and 2, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-6-17: 006. <br /> <br /> <br />4. APPLICANT: RT’S SERVICE, LLC (Amend SPP 1247) <br />Request to amend Special Permit No. 1247 by deleting Condition 2 (life of the permit), Condition 6 <br />(increasing days and hours of operation), and increasing the number of stored vehicles. Special <br />Permit No. 1247 was issued in 2004 to allow office and storage uses for investigative/collection <br />services, a towing service, and short term parking for repossessed or disabled vehicles on <br />approximately 14,273 square feet of land in the State Land Use Agricultural District.
