<br /> <br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br />ACTIONS <br />SEPTEMBER 3, 2015 <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANTS: MARK AND KIM RODRIGUES (REZ 15-190) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from an Agricultural-20 acres (A-20a) to a Family <br />Agricultural-3 acres (FA-3a) zoning district for approximately 25 acres of land situated along <br />the east (makai) side of Lyman Springs Road, and also bordering along the north side of <br />Kaūmana Drive directly across of the Kaūmana Estates Subdivision in Ponahawai, South <br />Hilo, Hawaiʽi, TMK: 2-5-003:024. <br /> <br />Favorable recommendation to the County Council with conditions. <br /> <br /> <br />2.APPLICANT:PARADISE PARK BAPTIST CHURCH (SPP 14-163) <br /> <br />Request to amend Special Permit No. 14-163 to include an adjoining 1-acre parcel (Parcel <br />th <br />124) as part of the permit area to accommodate a new access from 24 Avenue that will <br />allow for termination of access to Kaloli Drive as required by Condition No. 3. Special <br />Permit No. 14-163 was approved to allow the establishment of a church and related <br />improvements on approximately one acre of land situated in the State Land Use Agricultural <br />District. The properties are located in Hawaiian Paradise Park Subdivision along the west <br />rdth <br />side of Kaloli Drive between Naupaka Avenue (23) and Ohe Avenue (24), approximately <br />1 mile from the Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road intersection, Kea‘au, Puna, Hawai‘i, TMK: 1-5-038:123 <br />& 124. <br /> <br />Approved with conditions. <br /> <br /> <br />3.APPLICANT: ARROW OF OREGON/HAWAII, LLC (Amend SPP 09-076) <br /> <br />Contested case proceedings regarding the application for an amendment to Special Permit <br />No. 09-076, which was approved to allow a cinder and rock quarry operation on 5.003 acres <br />of land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The amendment will add <br />8.009 acres for a total of 13.012 acres of land. The properties are located northwest of <br />Mahimahi Drive, between Lurline Lane and Liliana Lane within the Hawaiian Ocean View <br />Estates Subdivision, Kahuku, Ka‘u, Hawai‘i, TMK: 9-2-148:005, 006-010, 015, 016 & 036. <br /> <br />Contested case proceedings continued to September 30, 2015 and, if necessary, to <br />October 1, 2015 after the regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />4.APPLICANTS: DAVID AND LAURA RODRIGUES (SPP 15-178) <br /> <br />Contested case proceedings regarding the application for a Special Permit to allow a cinder <br />and rock quarry operation on 5.003 acres of land situated within the State Land Use <br />Agricultural District. The properties are located on the northeast and southeast corners of <br />Kailua Boulevard and Lurline Lane, Hawaiian Ocean View Estates Subdivision, Kahuku, <br />Kau, Hawai‘i, TMKs: 9-2-142:020, 021, 022 & 9-2-145:047, 048. <br /> <br />Contested case proceedings continued to September 30, 2015 and, if necessary, to <br />October 1, 2015 after the regularly scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />Minutes of August 6, 2015 – Approved. <br /> <br />
