<br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />ACTIONS <br />MARCH 17, 2016 <br /> <br /> <br />APPLICANT: CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZON WIRELESS (USE 15-060) <br />1. <br />Request for a Use Permit to allow the construction of a new telecommunication facility, including a <br />60-foot tall steel monopalm and related facilities within a 750-square foot portion of a 13.859-acre <br />parcel situated in the County’s Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) zoning district. The property is located on <br />Hooper Road, approximately 700 feet south of the Kao Road-Hooper Road intersection, Portion of <br />st <br />Honalo-Kawanui 1, North Kona, Hawai‘i, TMK: 7-9-003: Portion of 008. <br /> <br />APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2.INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR (REVOCATION OF USE 90) <br />The Planning Director has initiated the revocation of Use Permit No. 90 originally issued to Puakō <br />Hawai‘i Properties by the Planning Commission on December 19, 1991 to allow the construction of <br />six 18-hole championship golf courses, a golf teaching academy and related improvements on 3,000 <br />acres. The property, currently owned by Bridge ‘Āina Le‘a, LLC and ‘Āina Le‘a Inc. et al., is <br />located on the mauka side of the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway between the Mauna Lani Resort and <br />Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-8-001:025, 036-040, and 069. <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3.APPLICANT: OCEAN VILLAS AT KAHALUU BAY, LLC (SMA 16-063) <br />‘ <br />Request for a Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit to allow for the development of a <br />306-unit multiple family residential project and its related improvements including, but not limited <br />to, internal utilities and driveways, landscaping, recreational amenities such as swimming pools, and <br />off-site infrastructural improvements such as sewer system improvements within Ali‘i Drive and an <br />emergency access/driveway improvements within the proposed Kahului-Keauhou Parkway <br />right-of-way.
