Parks,Water & Roads Sub -committee minutes, May 25,2016 <br />Attendance: John Winter, Toni Withington, Sara Pule Fujii, Carter Collins, Andi Longpre(minutes <br />by Andi) <br />TREES AT KAMEHAMEHA PARK: We discussed how we ought to best communicate with the <br />Dept. of Parks and Recreation regarding any of their future plans to trim and/or cut trees and other <br />maintenance issues. We agreed that Andi will write a letter to Mr. Honma requesting that, in the <br />future, Parks and Recreation consult with the community before it takes similar actions. <br />PRATT ROAD: John provided us with copies of an agreement between the County and Bishop <br />Estates/Kamehameha Schools regarding use and maintenance of an alternate route should the <br />main road in Pahoa be compromised. We discussed how we could best modify such an <br />agreement if Pratt Road were to be used as an emergency by-pass. John provided us with a list of <br />issues, particular to Pratt Road, that will have to be addressed in such an agreement. Andi will <br />write to Mr. Warren Lee (Public Works) to ascertain how to best proceed with the Corporation <br />Council in pursuing such an agreement. <br />BRIDGES: Sara pointed out there is a need for reflectors on the road to Pololu .Andi will contact <br />Mr. Panem's office to inquire about this and to request copies of the bridge evaluation documents. <br />
