APPLICANT: WAIKOLOA BAPTIST CHURCH (Amend USE 99) <br />Amendments to Condition No. 4 (secure Final Plan Approval), Condition No. 5 (complete <br />construction) and Condition No. 7 (road improvements) of Use Permit No. 99, which allowed the <br />establishment of a church, day care facilities, mission residences, recreational area and related <br />improvements on 12.381 acres of land situated within the Single-Family Residential-10,000 square <br />foot (RS-10) zoning district. The property is located within Waikoloa Village at the northwest <br />corner of the Paniolo Drive and Pu‘u-Nui Street intersection, Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawai‘i, <br />TMK: 6-8-002:031 and 056. <br /> <br />APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS. <br /> <br /> <br />2. APPLICANT: KUAKINI HIGHWAY 15-6099 CORP. (Amend REZ 05-013) <br /> (formerly Lava Kuakini, LLC) <br />Request for a 5-year extension of time by which to commence construction as required by <br />Condition C of Ordinance No. 06-78, which rezoned 14 acres of land from an Agricultural 5-acre <br />(A-5a) to a Multiple Family Residential–2,500 square foot (RM-2.5) district. The property is located <br />along the northeast side of Kuakini Highway, adjacent to and south of the Kona Hillcrest <br />st <br />Subdivision, Kahului 1, North Kona, Hawaiʽi, TMK: 7-5-017:005. <br /> <br />REQUEST WITHDRAWN BY THE APPLICANT. <br /> <br /> <br />3. APPLICANT: OCEAN VILLAS AT KAHALU‘U BAY, LLC (SMA 16-063) <br />Discussion and action regarding the designation and appointment of a hearing officer to preside over <br />a contested case proceeding regarding a Special Management Area (SMA) Use Permit application to <br />allow for the development of a 306-unit multiple family residential project and its related <br />improvements including, but not limited to, internal utilities and driveways, landscaping, <br />recreational amenities such as swimming pools, and off-site infrastructural improvements such as <br />sewer system improvements within Ali‘i Drive and an emergency access/driveway improvements <br />within the proposed Kahului-Keauhou Parkway right-of-way. The affected properties, consisting of <br />approximately 42.551 acres, is located along the mauka (east) side of Ali‘i Drive and Kahalu‘u Bay, <br />approximately 1,375 feet north of the Ali‘i Drive-Makolea Street intersection in Kahalu‘u, North <br />Kona, Hawai‘i, TMK: 7-8-010:004 and 7-8-014:013. <br /> <br />ACCEPTED COUNSEL’S ADVICE THAT THERE WAS NO ACTION FOR THE COMMISSION TO <br />TAKE. <br /> <br /> <br />Minutes of the July 21, 2016 meeting: APPROVED. <br />
