Communication No. 2016-26 <br />VOLCANO LONG RANGE PLAN - A CHANCE TO HAVE A SAY SO IN YOUR COMMUNITY! <br />The Volcano Long Range Plan (VLRP) committee is seeking input to deepen its understanding of Volcano community <br />priorities by conducting this SURVEY. To learn more about the VLRP, go to www.volcanocommunity.org, where you will <br />also find a link to the survey, if you prefer to take it online. <br />Because the draft plan is due for a revision, your responses to this survey will help to identify preferences for certain <br />community actions that have been proposed in the VLRP. <br />The survey consists of six questions: <br />1. Where is your residency? <br />2. What are the TOP THREE things you like about living in Volcano? <br />3. Your opinions on proposed initiatives (note: question 3 is focused on improvement initiatives in the VLRP) <br />4. From the list of community improvement initiatives, which are the THREE most important items? <br />5. What, if any, are the top three community services you would like to have in Volcano? <br />6. Would you like to participate in implementation of the VLRP? <br />Deadline for receipt of responses is close of business on Friday. October 21, 2016. <br />Please note that if you've already submitted the survey online, there's no need to complete this hard copy version of the <br />survey. Completed surveys may be returned to Volcano Community Association, E O. Box 600, Volcano, HI 96785-0600. <br />Surveys may also be returned to VCA's table at the Sunday Volcano Farmer's Market. <br />The long-term efforts of many Volcano residents supported the initial development and significant revisions of the <br />Volcano Long Range Plan over three decades. The plan aims to keep the Volcano community as the quaint gateway to the <br />national park, and as a serene and safe rural community. Other towns and villages in Hawaii are preparing long range <br />plans, as well. Each plan will be different, and will reflect the values of those who live there. <br />Your answers to this survey will help to guide the actions we as a community will be taking during the coming decades. <br />Thank you for participating in this survey. <br />* 1.
