Public: Janice Palma-Glennie, Jeff Zimpfer and Max Dible <br />20 The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson were not in attendance. Douglas Payne moved <br />21 to elect Curtis Tyler III Chairperson pro tem. It was duly seconded by Charles Young. <br />22 (a two-thirds vote in the affirmative is required for this motion to pass) <br />23 A voice vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. <br />24 STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON AGENDA <br />25 None <br />26 <br />27 ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br />28 Chairman pro tem Tyler suggested that the presentations be taken before administrative <br />29 matters and asked if there were any objections. No objections were heard and the <br />30 presentations will be conducted out of order by means of unanimous consent. <br />31 <br />32 PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION <br />33 1. Update on the status of the revised FEMA FIRM Maps by Kiran Emler, Civil <br />34 Engineer V with the County of Hawaiʻi – Department of Public Works – <br />35 Engineering Division. <br />36 <br />37 Mr. Emler informed the Committee that the last version of the updated draft <br />38 DFIRM maps are from August 2015. A handout was provided and is made a part <br />39 of these minutes. The current stage of the process is the last stage of the <br />40 handout. Mr. Emler went over the handout and the different steps of the <br />41 processed. A new FIRM map is scheduled to be mailed out to the County on <br />42 Friday, September 30, 2016. <br />43 <br />44 Committee Member Kimura asked if the updated DFIRM will be available as a <br />45 GIS layer for the Planning Department and the CDP’s to access and review. <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
