If you suggest a
change, please explain why.
I brought up the topic of aquaculture being part of the big vision and a high yield
potential crop (i.e. fish & hydroponics).
I also liked the concepts of "agri-hoods" and the potential of an out of the norm
approach to the situation.
When asked if our approach was going to be geared for success in the 2030's or
are we just going to say no to everything and try to go back to the 1930's, the
Councilwoman scolded me and accused me of "Cultural Insensitivity" (to put
it mildly.) I thought the Councilwoman was unnecessarily rude to me. She
does not know me well enouiih to be that way.
On the whole, I thought it was an excellent meeting; well prepared for and
professionally managed. A good approach to common concerns and
observations.
So that we can contact you for clarification, please provide your name and contact information
below. You can also mail comments to the Planning Department at 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3,
Hilo, HI 96720 or email them to hamakuakhawaiicounty.gov.
