Mercado, Keiko 7111$ ,fill 9 PILI ? <br />From: Steph Bath <stephbath@gmail.com> ;' i ,{i;tit= ; �� ; ',.;;;,4ENT.. r <br />Sent: Friday, June 29, 2018 4:39 PM :;i�E`J i `t iii- Hr1��/t',ii <br />To: Planning - Puna <br />Subject: Testimony for special AC meeting <br />Aloha action committee, <br />My heart and prays go out to those of you negatively impacted by the events happening in Puna. <br />As some of you are aware, I have been an advocate for connectivity and road redundancy in Puna for. over -a . _. <br />decade. <br />Once again Kilauea has demonstrated to us the awe of the creative process and the destructive consequences of <br />nature. <br />I was impressed with how our Govenor, mayor and state and county agencies responded to the immediate needs <br />of paving and opening chain of craters that was intended to be an evacuation route. <br />They also paved other areas needed for the health and safety of those working the eruption. <br />When I think of the time and resources spent a question arises. <br />What disallows the County/ state from appropriating funds now to acquire Connectivity location ( CL) lands? <br />During this time it is prudent to have the CLs in place so if/ when they are needed the crews can come in to <br />develop them. <br />What I am not saying is doze them all. <br />What I am saying is aquire them. <br />We are aware that when disaster is here much can be done with attitudes and alerted rules in place. <br />Please "act" on this. <br />Have the County Council support this <br />Respectfully, <br />Stephanie Bath <br />1 <br />
