<br /> <br />KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br />MINUTES <br />Meeting Date: June 19, 2018 <br />Time: 5:15 p.m. <br />Place: West Hawai‘i Civic Center <br />nd <br />Planning Department Conference Room – Building E, 2 Floor <br />74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, 96740 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Commissioners Present: Shaun Roth, Peter Dahlberg, Zon Sullenberger, Ann Kern, and Bryant <br />Ching. <br />Absent and Excused: John Hetherington, Mark Van Pernis, Michaela Ikeuchi, and Jasmine <br />Crusat <br />Planning Department: Terry Dunlap (Planner), Deanne Bugado (Planner) and Rosalind Newlon <br />(Planner/Recorder), and Bennett Mark (Planning Program Manager) <br />Applicants/Representatives: Ken Melrose, Raini Castro, Aaron Spielman, Cynthia Heingus, Todd <br />Mardon, and Kehau Harnson <br />Public: None <br />A quorum was present, Chairman Shaun Roth called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. and the <br />Commissioners introduced themselves. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes of the Meeting of June 5, 2018. <br />Chairman Roth asked if there were any corrections to the minutes. No corrections were offered and the <br />minutes were approved as circulated. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br />There was no one from the public who wished to testify on any items on the agenda at this time. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. The applicant, John Allen Sign Company, is proposing a master signage plan for Kuakini Center. <br />This would allow future tenants to submit for new signs permits, as long as the proposed sign <br />matches the size and color approved by the master sign plan without having to continually submit for <br />Kailua Village Design Commission review. The proposal includes: <br /> One (1) Ground sign (48” x 48”) with the following Font sizes: Main Font: 5.25” Tall; Address <br />Font: 3.25” Tall; Suite Number: 1.125” Tall and Tenant Name Font: 1.25” Tall <br /> Eighteen (18) 8’-0”x 18” tenant wall signs with the following Font sizes: Tenant Name Font: <br />6.25” Tall with Max Logo Height: 7.25” Tall <br /> Seven (7) 12’-0” x 18” tenant wall signs with the following Font sizes: Tenant Name Font: 6.25” <br />Tall with the Max Logo Height: 7.25” Tall. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
