NOTICE OF CANCELLATION <br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />October 4, 2018 <br />The public meeting and hearings scheduled by the County of Hawaii Windward Planning <br />Commission on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at the County of Hawaii Aupuni Center <br />Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii, have been cancelled due to lack of quorum. <br />The hearings were scheduled for: <br />APPLICANT: HAWAII ISLAND VETERANS MEMORIAL, INC. <br />(AMEND REZ 06-000051) <br />Application to amend Condition B (Water Commitment), Condition C (Complete Construction), <br />and Condition F (Install Street Lights and Traffic Controls) of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 07 <br />26, which reclassified 4.888 acres from an Open (0) to a Multiple Family Residential —1,000 <br />square feet (RM -1) zoning district in 2006. The property is located at the north corner of the <br />Kawili Street and Kapi`olani Street intersection, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, Tax Map Keys: <br />(3) 2-4-057:029, portion of 030 and portion of 031. <br />2. APPLICANT: FRIENDS OF THE VOLCANO SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES <br />(USE 18-000077) <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow the establishment of a public charter school and related <br />improvements for grades K-8 for up to 250 students, and to provide afternoon and evening adult <br />education and post -secondary classes on 3.15 acres of land, known as the historic Keakealani <br />School property, within the Single -Family Residential -20,000 square foot (RS -20) zoning <br />district. The property address is 19-4024 Haunani Road, which is about 500 feet northeast of its <br />intersection with the Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village, Puna District, Hawaii, <br />TMK: (3) 1-9-004:019. <br />APPLICANT: KURTISTOWN ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH (USE 18-000077) <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow the construction of a 3,040 square -foot community <br />outreach center and related improvements on a portion of 1.944 acres of land situated within the <br />Single -Family Residential 20,000 -square feet (RS -20) zoned district. The property is northeast <br />and adjacent to the site of the Kurtistown Assembly of God Church, which is located on the <br />mauka (northwest) side of Highway I I directly across the Highway I I- Kuauli Road Junction, <br />Kurtistown, Puna, Hawaii, <br />TMK (3) 1-7-006: portion of 005. <br />4. APPLICANT: CELLCO PARTNERSHIP DBA VERIZON WIRELESS <br />(USE 18-000076) <br />Application for a Use Permit to allow the construction of a new, non -manned telecommunication <br />facility, consisting of a 198 -foot tall self-supporting tower and related facilities within a 1,600 - <br />square foot lease area on a 3 -acre parcel of land situated in the County's Agricultural 3 -acre <br />(A -3a) zoning district. The location of the subject property is 16-1806 Moho Road, <br />approximately 920 feet south of the Kio`ele and Moho Road intersection, Hawaiian Acres <br />Subdivision, Kea`au, Puna, Hawaii, <br />TMK (3) 1-6-047: portion of 062. <br />
