Incident: Coronavirus-19 Update Message <br /> This is a Civil Defense message. <br /> This is a Coronavirus-19 informational update for Tuesday, February 18 at 9:00 in the morning. <br /> The Department of Health confirms that there are NO cases of Coronavirus-19 reported in <br /> Hawaii at this time. As previously reported, the Department of Health continues to gather facts <br /> and interview individuals related to the Japanese visitor that was confirmed to have <br /> Coronavirus-19. The Department of Health confirms that the individual did not travel to Hawaii <br /> Island. Persons having had contact with this individual in Hawaii are being identified and <br /> followed up is being coordinated by the Department of Health. <br /> The following transportation policies remain in effect: <br /> • The U.S. Department of State continues to advise U.S. citizens to not travel to China. <br /> • The only individuals allowed into the U.S. from China are U.S. citizens and will undergo a <br /> mandatory quarantine. <br /> AS A REMINDER: <br /> • The Department of Health recommends everyone 6 months or older to get the flu shot. <br /> Symptoms of Coronavirus-19 are similar to the flu. Reducing the number of flu cases in <br /> the community helps decrease the burden on healthcare providers and facilities, having <br /> fewer patients with flu-like symptoms makes it easier to detect persons who might have <br /> cononavirus-19 infection. <br /> Additionally, your help is needed to prevent rumors about Coronavirus-19. Make sure your <br /> information is up-to-date and comes from a credible source. For more information regarding <br /> Coronavirus-19, visit: <br /> • Department of Health website at www.health.hawaii.gov or, <br /> • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov. <br /> • You may also call the Department of Health at 974-6001 or after-hours at 211. <br /> You will be notified of any changes that may affect your safety. <br /> This is your Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency. <br />
