<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />JANUARY 11, 2008 <br />KOHALA LLC (REZ 866) <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of was called to <br />order at 6:06 p.m. at the King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, 75-5660 Palani Road, <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, with Chairman Rodney Watanabe presiding. <br />PRESENT: William Graham ABSENT & EXCUSED: C. Kimo Alameda <br /> Takashi Domingo Andrew Iwashita <br /> Shelly Ogata Rene’ Siracusa <br /> Alvin Rho <br /> Rodney Watanabe <br /> Rell Woodward <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br />Steven Lim, Attorney for Kohala LLC <br />And no one from the public in attendance. <br />APPLICANT: KOHALA LLC (REZ 866) <br />Continued hearing on an amendment to Condition C (time to secure final subdivision approval) <br />of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 97-102, which rezoned 37.88 acres of land from an <br />Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) to a Single-Family Residential 15,000-square foot (RS-15) district. <br />The property involved is located along the southwest (makai) side of Akoni Pule Highway and <br />st <br />the Kohala Ranch Subdivision, Kahua 1, North Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 5-9-1:8. <br />WATANABE: Now we have Agenda Item 5 to deal with. I’d like to take five minutes. <br />But, you know, before we take that five minutes I had indicated earlier that I do have some <br />suggestions. It’s based on I believe a neighboring SMA Permit that we did issue. I recall that <br />particular incident. And if you don’t mind this, I’m not trying to railroad anything, I would like <br />to pass that out so that you all can review that. It’s just a draft. It’s one person’s initial proposal. <br />I thought I’d work on something like that so that, you know, we could proceed a little faster <br />possibly; and so if you don’t mind during the recess I’ll hand that out or give a copy to staff, etc. <br />Okay, thank you. <br />RECESSED The Chair called a short recess at 6:06 p.m. <br />RECONVENED The meeting reconvened at 6:17 p.m. <br />EXHIBIT D <br />1 <br /> <br />
