<br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br />MARCH 18, 2005 <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of <br />WAIKOLOA DEVELOPMENT <br />was called to order at 10:51 a.m. in the Hapuna Beach <br />CO. (ORDINANCE NO. 95-51) <br />Prince Hotel, Hau/Lehua Room, 62-100 Kaunaoa Drive, Kohala Coast, Hawaii, with <br />Chairman Fred Galdones presiding. <br />PRESENT:Fred GaldonesABSENT & EXCUSED:Rene Siracusa <br />C. Kimo Alameda <br />Earl Fujikawa <br />WilliamGraham <br />Jeffrey McCall <br />Francis Smith <br />Hannah Springer <br />Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Kiran Emler representing Department of Public Works <br />And approximately 16 people from the public in attendance <br />APPLICANT: WAIKOLOA DEVELOPMENT CO. (ORDINANCE NO. 95-51) <br />Request for a 10-year time extension to Condition B (time to secure Final Subdivision <br />Approval) of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 95-51 that rezoned approximately 761 acres <br />of land from Unplanned (U) and Multiple Family Residential 1,500 square feet <br />(RM-1.5) districts to Open (O) and Residential and Agricultural 1-acre (RA-1a) districts. <br />The property, referred to as the proposed Waikoloa Highlands Subdivision and Golf <br />Course, is located along the south side of Waikoloa Road and south southeast of <br />Waikoloa Village, Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-8-2: portion of 16 and <br />6-8-3: portion of 32. <br />GALDONES:Commissioners, we are on Agenda Item No. 5. Applicant is <br />Waikoloa Development Co. (Ordinance No. 95-51).
