Araujo, Jaclyn
From: Melanie Matsuda <mmatsuda12@gmail.com>
Sent: Tuesday, October 11, 2022 8:43 PM
To: LPCtestimony
Subject: Change of Zone Application (REZ 21-000248) Testimony
Thank you for listening to the people of Kohala. As someone who has grown up in Kohala and has had many ties to the
people and has helped numerous community events, I have not ONCE seen or heard of Mr. Dwayne Cravalho except in
negative light. He is known in the community for buying random pieces of land that he cannot seem to upkeep. The
triangle that he owns in Hawi has been full of weeds and only as of recent, had it been decently maintained. There is
absolutely NO space for 6 parking stalls. If you were to physically drive by there, you would see that it is not a fit spot for
any type of food establishment whether it be mobile or not.
Mr. Cravalho states that he has been a long contributing member in Kohala and would not do anything to harm the
community, etc. but the people of Kohala are speaking up and we DO NOT want that area to be another establishment.
Another thing that I'd like to bring up is that the traffic in Hawi is bad enough, we do not need another establishment
and parking area to make it worse. It will not be a safe place for cars to park.
Please consider our voices and empathize that we DO NOT want or need a food truck location in Kohala.
Mahalo for your time,
Melanie
