<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Planning <br />Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, <br />Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and the Planning <br />Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. <br />DATE: <br /> Friday, February 1, 2008 <br /> TIME: <br />9:00 a.m. <br />PLACE: <br />County of Hawaii Aupuni Center Conference Room <br /> 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, HI 96720 <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS – 9:00 a.m. <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />1. <br /> Continued hearing on the amendment to Section 25-2-45, Chapter 25 (Zoning), Hawaii <br />County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) with respect to Nonsignificant Zoning <br />Changes. <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />2. <br />Continued hearing on the revocation of Special Permit No. 05-009 (Melvin Miranda), <br />which allowed the establishment of a contractor’s base yard on approximately one acre of <br />land situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located <br />along the north side of the Hawaii Belt Highway (Highway 19) at approximately the <br />47.5-mile marker, Kapoaula, Hamakua, Hawaii, TMK: 4-7-7: portion of 55. <br />NEW BUSINESS – 9:30 a.m <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />3. <br />Amendment to Chapter 2, Article 7, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br />amended) relating to the Planning Commission’s review of a draft community <br />development plan or amendment thereof. The purpose of the amendment is to provide a <br />time frame for the Planning Commission’s review and recommendation to the County <br />Council on a draft Community Development Plan or amendment. <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />4. <br />Amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning), Article 2, Division 3, Section 25-2-35, Hawaii <br />County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) relating to administrative enforcement. <br />The proposed amendment states that “an appeal to the board of appeals shall not stay the <br />provisions of the (planning) director’s order pending the final decision of the board of <br />appeals.” <br /> <br />
