<br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 24, 2008 <br />The Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:30 a.m. in the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, <br />Hau Room, 62-100 Kaunaoa Drive, Kohala Coast, Hawaii, with Chairman Rodney Watanabe <br />presiding. <br />PRESENT: Rodney Watanabe ABSENT & EXCUSED: Lani Bowman <br /> C. Kimo Alameda (left at 2:00 p.m.) Shelly Ogata <br /> Takashi Domingo <br /> Frederic Housel <br /> Andrew Iwashita <br /> Rell Woodward <br /> Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br /> <br /> Christopher Yuen, Planning Director <br /> Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />OgxkkhrEtihlnsn+Rs`eeOk`mmdq <br /> Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />L`hi`Bnsskd+Rs`eeOk`mmdq <br /> <br />The Chair introduced the Commissioners and staff. <br />Mr. Hayashi announced that this is the last meeting for Director Yuen, as his term as director <br />st <br />ends on December 1, and thanked him for mentoring and supporting the staff over the years. <br />Director Yuen expressed his appreciation to the Commissioners and the staff, and the <br />Commissioners also expressed their gratitude. <br />SMA 379 The Commission took up the following two items simultaneously <br />PLANNING DIRECTOR at 9:37 a.m. with five people from the public in attendance. <br />KOHALA LLC <br />ST <br />KAHUA 1, <br />NORTH KOHALA <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR (SMA USE PERMIT NO. 379) <br />Reconsideration on the Planning Commission’s action on the revocation of Special Management <br />Area (SMA) Use Permit No. 379, which allowed the development of a 50-lot single-family <br />residential subdivision.
