Applicants and Representatives: Mark Lively, A.I.A., Richard B. Leander, Jr., Rev. <br />Konelio Faletoi, David Tamura, Greg Mooers <br />4. Planning Department: Bennett Mark, Rosalind Newlon and Keola Childs <br />5. Public: Barbara Kossow <br />Vice-Chair and acting Chair Paul Bleck welcomed those in attendance and explained the role of <br />the Commission and the meeting procedures. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br />There were none. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Design review of a sign permit application for a ground and wall sign for St. MichaelÓs <br />Church. Applicant: Mark Lively, AIA; Lively Architects. Land Owners: The Roman <br />Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii. TMK: 7-5-008:006. Located at 75-5769 AliÒi <br />Drive, Kailua-Kona, HI, approximately 270 feet south of Huallai Road. <br />Ms. Newlon oriented the Commissioners regarding the subject and surrounding <br />properties on the location map, presented illustrations supplied by the applicant and <br />described the proposed ground (directory) and wall signs as to size, number and tone of <br />colors used and lettering fonts. Referencing the various KVDC Guidelines for the review <br />of signs, she explained that the proposed signs complied with those Guidelines. <br />There were no questions from the Commissioners or statements fro <br />matter. Commissioner Kern moved the Commission to recommend app <br />permit application. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Burns. A roll call vote <br />was taken and the motion carried unanimously. <br />1 <br /> <br />
