Marni Herkes moved and Bob Ward seconded to <br />approve minutes. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO) Presentation: <br />  <br />Gail Bryne introduced the Hawaii Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO) team present. <br />  <br />She provided a brief history of the non-profit organization, which was founded in 2002. The <br />  <br />HWMO is actively working on writing a plan called the Community Wildfire Protection Plan <br />  <br />(CWPP) for South Kona. She also encouraged the KCDP Action Committee to consider <br />  <br />amendments to the KCDP to include wildfire and mitigation plans in future. <br /> <br /> <br />Miles Nakahara, President of HWMO, informed the KCDP Action Committee that they will be <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />holding a community meeting to get input and buy-in from South Kona communities and asked <br /> <br /> <br />for suggestions of a good venue. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Elizabeth Pickett gave a quick overview of the CWPP process and highlighted where HWMO is <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />for the plan for South Kona. <br />tm; <br />šE <br /> <br />
