Dear Chairman Dennis Lin, Windward Planning Commission, <br /> My name is Carol Chavez. I have been a part of the Oceanview community for <br /> 25 years. When I met Pastor Pam and the Hope Dia-Mend family 9 years ago my <br /> life hasn't been the same since. They've helped me find freedom from many things <br /> that were meant to bring me down. Also since I've witnessed how this church has <br /> reached out to the community, through food ministry events, holidays and even <br /> house/hospital visitations to name a few. The people in this community have <br /> changed for the good in so many ways. I've seen kindness restored, hope <br /> restored, hard hearts soften. Even with the food program, I've watched it go from <br /> dog eat dog to people preferring one another. This food ministry has helped many <br /> who would have otherwise starved find physical food and spiritual food. Largely in <br /> part from,the church coming and being a good influence to the community. <br /> Please allow this land that's theirs to be used for church and things needed to <br /> keep this community hopeful.
