NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE <br />9/25/07 <br />Purpose: A community -based team who will help guide, promote, <br />and ensure that the North Kohala Community <br />Development Plan (CDP) process is meaningful and has <br />an inclusive community involvement component. Also <br />help to ensure that the resulting document captures and <br />reflects community input. <br />Authority: County of Hawaii General Plan, Section 15.1. <br />Full Membership: 11 members <br />Specific Representation: North Kohala Judicial District. <br />Requirements: - Willing to make an 18 -month commitment <br />- Willing to attend monthly Steering Committee meetings <br />and to do the work in- between meetings (i.e., reading <br />plan drafts, talking to community groups & individuals). <br />- Willing to help organize /attend public involvement <br />meetings <br />-Agree to follow meeting ground rules as developed <br />-Agree to the Steering Committee's Roles and <br />Responsibilities. <br />Meetings: Normally, one meeting per month <br />Financial Disclosure: Not required. <br />Reappointment: Per Mayor's discretion <br />Qualities: Community- minded, collaborative, aware of North <br />Kohala District's unique qualities and challenges, able to <br />place community needs as a whole above one's <br />personal self- interests. <br />Current Members: All Terms expire December 31, 2008 <br />HENRYDULAN <br />DAVID FUERTES <br />MICHAEL GOMES <br />WILLIAM GRAHAM <br />ALVIN KAWAMOTO <br />CAROLYN LANCASTER <br />ROBERT MARTIN <br />TED MATSUDA <br />STEPHEN NORRIS <br />CRYSTAL WEST <br />FERN WHITE <br />Recorder: Rose Bumbard <br />Contact Person: Allen Salavea, Planning Department <br />Attorney Assigned: Amy Self, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />
