REDISTRICTING COMMISSION <br /> 5.2.11 <br /> Purpose: Establishes the boundaries of the council districts in the year <br /> 1991 and every tenth year thereafter. <br /> Authority: Hawaii County Charter, Section 3-17. <br /> Appointment: By the mayor and confirmed by the council in the manner <br /> prescribed in Section 13-4, Hawaii County Charter. <br /> Full Membership: Nine members. <br /> Specific Representation: One resident member from each council district established by <br /> the previous redistricting commission. <br /> Requirements: Shall be appointed and confirmed by March 1 of the redistricing <br /> year, and shall file a Redistricting Plan with the County Clerk by <br /> December 31 of the redistricting year. <br /> Meetings: Pursuant to rule 1 a. of the rules of procedure of the 2011 <br /> Hawaii County Redistricting Commission, and as designated by <br /> the Commissioners, the meeting dates for the next four months <br /> beginning in the month of May 2011, are the 2nd and 4t" <br /> Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. location TBA, all other <br /> meetings will be determined by a majority of the Commission <br /> members. <br /> Redistricting: Pursuant to Hawaii County Charter 3-17, the Redistricting <br /> Commission shall be dissolved after the filing of the <br /> Reapportionment Plan. <br /> Qualities: Respected by the community as being community-minded and <br /> oriented.
