<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS <br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Leeward <br />Planning Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 <br />and 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-7.5(a) of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and <br />the Commissions Rules of Practice and Procedure. <br />DATE: Thursday, July 19, 2012 <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> PLACE: West Hawaii Civic Center, Community Center, Building G <br /> 74-5044 Ane Keohoklole Highway, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC Note that statements from the public regarding <br />any particular item on this agenda will be taken at the time the particular item is called to <br />order. <br />NEW BUSINESS 9:30 a.m. <br />1. <br />APPLICANT: KOHALA WISHING WELL, LLC (SPP-12-134) <br />th <br />Special Permit to allow the establishment of a pre-K through 8 Grade non-profit country <br />school and learning center for up to 50 students and value-based adult education evening <br />classes on 3.357 of land situated in the State Land Use Agricultural District. The <br />property is located on Hea Road approximately 1.2 miles north from the Akoni-Pule <br />Highway-Hea Road intersection, Kaauhuhu Homesteads, North Kohala, <br />TMK: 5-8-008:040. <br />2. <br />APPLICANT: KOHANAIKI SHORES, LLC (SMA-12-50) <br />Special Management Area Use Permit to allow the development of a frontage road along <br />the makai side of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway from the Hulikoa Drive intersection <br />at the Queen Kaahumanu Highway to Kohanaiki Way, Kohanaiki, North Kona, <br />TMK: 7-3-009: portions of 16 and 18. <br />NEW BUSINESS 10:00 a.m. <br />3. <br />INITIATOR: COUNTY COUNCIL <br />Bill No. 255 regarding an amendment to Ordinance No. 08-150 which amended <br />Ordinance No. 465, which reclassified lands from Agricultural-1 acre (A-1a) to <br />Neighborhood Commercial-7,500 square feet (CN-7.5). Amendment seeks to delete <br />Condition E that currently restricts use of the property to a visitor center and related uses <br />due to flood hazards. The property is situated adjacent to the southeast of the Amy B.H. <br />Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden in Kealakekua, South Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 8-2-013: <br />Portion of 2. <br />1 <br /> <br />
