NORTH KOHALA HOUSING REPORT Meeting Notes March 20, 2012 (HI. Comm. F.C.0 Kohala Office) Present: Mgr. Lakme Nishie, Jack Hoyt, April Lee, and Collin Kaholo Meeting: 3pm. Subject Matter: Homebuyer Education and Counseling Program Education Program: As a matter of point of contact, the committee will work with Lakme Nishie from the Kohala FCU branch and Hana Hill Homeownership Counselor from Kailua -Kona. To coordinate a training program for family and young Adult, in need to secure their financial ability, in quest fora Home in their future. The Trainer is a Gentleman from the Honolulu office. He is willing to help in this program, with at least 15 thru 20 Family, as a starter project. It is and 8 hours class, starting on Friday at 5pm thru 9:30pm and on Saturday gam thru 1:30pm. The Hawaii Home Ownership Center /Home Buyers Education Program - Certification for government project. Will help the future home owners, in the process of their application for loads or a self- help home program. It gives the financial institution a sense of security with their Certificate of completion, and their finance taken care of, from the Home Buyers Education program. Is a big plus for the attendee and their future. Committee Responsibility: Advertisement /Others KMN- do letter to the Community for Home Buyer Education Program. Post information letters on all bulletin board in the Community. Have Community Information meeting on program. Date& Time (TBA) Secure a classroom site. Have a new Home owner on site for. Q & A Have the developer on site for. Q & A Request support from Church groups on family housing needs. Get family to attend education classes. Attend one session in the Home Buyers Education Program. (Kona) Have the trainer schedule to formulate plan.
