NORTH KOHALA HOUSING REPORT July 1, 2012 Community Public Open House Present: Jack Hoyt, Megan Solis, Terri Herrera, John Lorenzo and Collin Kaholo, No Public Participant. Location: Self -Help Site. 3:00 thru 5:00 pm Notices: The Committee place open house flyer's around the Community to inform the Public, with the intension to give any members or family from this Community a change to receive first hand information on this Self -Help building project. Open House: The members present, were privilege to have. Mr. Lorenzo an Ms. Terri Herrera, are both tied to this self -help project. The information given form both party, were well receive and very informative. Members were given the privilege to inspect three homes on this site, as family members move on with their assign responsibility as the builder's on this project. Home owner's were given the privilege to select the types of flooring, wall paint and their main entrance door. On this project there is two types of homes, 3 bedroom, 2 baths, living room / Dining room and kitchen. The distinction is..! The larger one is identify with a car port and open side, whereas the smaller size has an enclose Garage . Meeting: 4:30 pm. July 16, 2012 (Kohala Senior Center) Present: Jack Hoyt, and Collin Kaholo Housing: It were decided the Committee, would do a future home owners Education informational meeting. Date and time: TBA Land: The Committee will look at the land abreast of, the present Kahei Sub - Division. Committee are in the process, of contacting DLNR. Hawaiian Homes, the State Senator and Representative in support of Housing concern for this Community. Habitat: Can be one of the partners in support of, low income type of housing program. Whereas the builder, come from Community support in a build. Unlike self -help, family members need to invest 500 hours in this program. Next Meeting : August 20, 2012 Senior Center: 4:30 pm / 1630 hr.
