Funding of these two projects is critical to the success of the ongoing grass roots efforts currently underway in Pahoa to create a Regional Town Center master plan and in Volcano to create a Village Center master plan in accordance with Sections 2.1.3.a., 2.2.3, 3.1.3.b, 5.2.1 and 5.2.3 of the Puna CDP. The funds requested are necessary to contract with professional consultants who can work with established community based groups in the task of translating community visions into strategic plans suitable for adoption by the County by ordinance or resolution as may be appropriate.
