<br /> <br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 1, 2015 <br /> <br />The Windward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:02 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawai‘i, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i, with Chairman <br />Myles Miyasato presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Myles Miyasato, Charles Heaukulani, Gregory Henkel, Donald <br />Ikeda, and Raylene Moses. <br /> <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: Donn Dela Cruz. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Danny Patel (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Windward Planning Commission), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), <br />Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner), Christian Kay (Staff Planner), and Sarah Hata-Finley (Commission <br />Secretary). <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Chairman Miyasato introduced Windward Planning Commissioners and <br />staff to members of the public, and went over the procedures for public testimony. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANT: NIMR TAMIMI (REZ 15-191) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from Single Family Residential-10,000 square feet <br />(RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial-20,000 square feet (CN-20) for 22,000 square feet of <br />land. The property is located on Manono Street, approximately 200 feet north from the <br />intersection of Kekūanaōa Street and Manono Street in Waiākea House Lots, Waiākea, South <br />Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-034:083. <br /> <br />The Commission took this item up at 9:03 a.m. with 10 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />This item ended at 9:09 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />2.APPLICANT: ERIC HOOTA (Amend REZ 758) <br />Request for an extension of time to complete construction of proposed commercial <br />development as required by Condition E of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 94-06, which <br />amended the zoning district for 26,770 square feet of land from a Single Family Residential- <br />10,000 square feet (RS-10) to General Commercial-10,000 square feet (CG-10).
