<br /> <br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 19, 2015 <br /> <br />The Leeward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:32 a.m. in the West Hawai‘i Civic <br />Center, Community Center, Building G, 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Kailua-Kona, Hawai‘i, <br />with Chairman Brandi Beaudet presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Brandi Beaudet, Scott Church, Collin Kaholo, Barbara Nobriga, <br />Sonny Shimaoka, Keith Unger and Thomas Whittemore <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bobby Command (Deputy Planning Director), Jeff Darrow (Planner), <br />Maija Jackson (Planner) and Noriko Sauer (Commission Secretary) <br /> <br />And two people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Chair Beaudet called the meeting to order, and introduced the <br />Commissioners and staff to members of the public. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANTS: KURT SHIVELY AND JASON SHIVELY (SLU 15-044/REZ 15-195) <br /> <br />Applications for a State Land Use Boundary Amendment from an Agricultural to a Rural district <br />and a Change of Zone from an Agricultural-5 acres (A-5a) to a Residential and Agricultural-2 <br />acres (RA-2a) zoning district for 5.497 acres of land. The property is located in the Kānehoa <br />Subdivision, on the north side of Kawaihae Road in the vicinity of the 62 mile marker at ʻŌuli, <br />South Kohala, Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-2-009:013 <br /> <br />The Commission took up this item at 9:34 a.m. with the applicants’ representatives and no one else <br />from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br /> <br />2.APPLICANT: WAIKOLOA BC, LLC (REZ 15-196) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from a Resort-Hotel-2 acres (V-2a) to a Resort-Hotel-6,000 <br />square feet (V-6) zoning district for 7.849 acres of land. The property is located on the south end <br />of Anaeho‘omalu Bay along the south side of Ku‘uali‘i Place, south and east of the Lava Lava <br />Beach Club and west of the public parking area, in the Waikoloa Beach Resort, South Kohala, <br />Hawai‘i, TMK: 6-9-007:Por of 015. <br /> <br />Chair Beaudet stated that this item was postponed at the applicant’s request.
