CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JULY 24, 2019 <br /> <br />3. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />4. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />a. Follow up on the July 24, 2019, motion to suggest a better description for the <br />Soil Aquifer Treatment ponds proposed for the Kealakehe R-1 upgrade, and <br />discuss a proposed letter from the commission to the director on this. <br /> <br />5. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />a. Discuss ideas to bring grant writing expertise to serve the Department of <br />Environmental Management. <br /> <br />b. Discuss ideas for identifying residences and businesses that are not connected <br />to the county sewer but may be required to do so. <br /> <br />(1) Discuss educational efforts to inform residents of connection requirements. <br /> <br />c. Discuss having future meetings scheduled for a Tuesday or Thursday. <br /> <br />6. REPORTS/CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />a. Chair’s Informational Report on: <br /> <br />(1) the emergence of sucralose as a sewer/wastewater indicator. Studies from <br />Sweden and Florida will be discussed, and a pilot study proposal for West <br />Hawaiʻi will be shared. <br /> <br />
